ZOOM SOURCE / JSON TEXT EXPORT

Convert Zoom speech to JSON

Transcribe an accessible Zoom recording into structured transcript segments. Use structured transcript segments to trace when topics were spoken in a shared replay; they are not official Zoom attendance logs. This is a written speech export, not a video or audio media conversion.

After your account job finishes, choose JSON in Download. The format will be marked as requested; no download happens automatically. Guest demo can be preview-only.

THE FINISHED RESULT

A transcript you can actually work with

Search the text, jump back to the exact moment in the video, fix a name, then export the format your workflow needs.

Can LongScribe reach the Zoom recording?

This workflow starts from a reachable shared Zoom cloud recording. Zoom share links can require a passcode or account; a reachable recording is required, and public links do not bypass access controls. The recording must contain understandable spoken audio; a successful public page load is not a media extraction guarantee.

What the JSON result actually contains

The completed transcript exports as structured transcript segments, intended for speech-data parsing and automated research. JSON is text/timestamps, not video frames, MP3 audio or metadata about views and likes. You will not get a binary media transcoding or a copied copy of the hosted video.

One transcription, five available text formats

After processing the recording once, the saved account job can offer TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON transcript downloads. The requested format is highlighted; downloading it requires normal job completion and account permissions.

Sort meeting speech by timestamp

Use structured transcript segments to trace when topics were spoken in a shared replay; they are not official Zoom attendance logs.

Verify the JSON before reuse

Validate the JSON structure before downstream processing and confirm that timestamped segments match audible speech. Zoom share links can require a passcode or account; a reachable recording is required, and public links do not bypass access controls.

Search a meeting's spoken timeline programmatically

JSON speech segments are useful for locating when a participant said a phrase in a completed, accessible Zoom recording. Work with the segment text and approximate start and end seconds, and verify important citations by replaying that moment. The output is not a Zoom API export: it does not establish meeting attendance, chat authors, screen-sharing events or who approved a decision. Control access to the transcript just as you would the original private meeting.

Zoom recording to JSON: the actual steps

  1. Copy a link to a reachable shared Zoom cloud recording that you may process. Do not paste private passwords or tokens into public sharing links.
  2. Submit it using the form above. The link is transferred in the same browser session, not written into the URL you navigate to. LongScribe must retrieve the audio and recognize intelligible speech.
  3. After a completed account job, open Download and choose JSON. You can edit or review the result before sharing. No automatic download is triggered.

Output: structured transcript segments for speech-data parsing and automated research. JSON is text/timestamps, not video frames, MP3 audio or metadata about views and likes.

Source restrictions: Zoom share links can require a passcode or account; a reachable recording is required, and public links do not bypass access controls.

Account and export: A registered Free account has job/minute limits. An anonymous attempt can provide only a short preview; it does not promise a full downloadable transcript. The five exports come from the same finished transcript, not five separate transcription jobs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn a Zoom recording into JSON?

Yes, if the Zoom audio is accessible, is decodable, contains understandable speech and completes within account limits. Then choose JSON from the completed transcript's Download menu.

Does Zoom to JSON download or convert the video itself?

No. JSON is a written speech transcript export; this is not an MP4, MP3 or other audiovisual transcoding service.

What if my Zoom link is restricted?

Zoom share links can require a passcode or account; a reachable recording is required, and public links do not bypass access controls. Use an authorized accessible recording file instead when supported. LongScribe does not bypass private media access.

Can I choose another format after receiving JSON?

Yes. A completed account job offers TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON from the same transcript; it does not require five uploads.

Is a complete transcript download available without an account?

Do not assume so. Guest processing may return a shortened preview. Sign in, complete an eligible job and use your account's remaining job/minute limits for full exports.
