ONEDRIVE TRANSCRIPTION

Transcribe OneDrive recordings or watch a folder

Two different workflows: paste an accessible public OneDrive audio/video share link for a single transcription, or connect Microsoft to select private media and monitor a folder. The public-link form does not grant access to private files.

What to do

A public URL and an authenticated Microsoft connection are different access methods.

What to know

Never make a private meeting recording public solely to transcribe it.

LongScribe signed-in Free: 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month. Premium: $4.99/month / 5,000 minutes, Premium Pro: $14.99/month / 20,000 minutes. Per-job duration, file size and account restrictions still apply. The anonymous demo is a separate limited preview.

Automated transcripts need review against the source. No comparative accuracy advantage is claimed.

One public file: paste a OneDrive share link

Use a share link that is accessible without signing in and points to supported audio or video. This public-link form cannot use your Microsoft account to unlock private files.

Private OneDrive: connect your Microsoft account

Choose the connected OneDrive workflow to authorize supported files through Microsoft Graph. Do not turn a private recording public just to transcribe it. The connection needs working permissions and may require plan eligibility.

A watched folder is a separate recurring workflow

For repeated meeting recordings or interviews, choose an authorized folder and a scan policy in Connected Sources. New supported files can be imported on later checks subject to per-check, account, job and quota limits.

Avoid duplicate imports, check changes

The connected source tracks item identity and modification state to avoid repeatedly importing an unchanged file. Edits or permission changes can affect eligibility.

Export and verify

Review words and timestamps, then export an eligible completed job as TXT, DOCX, SRT or JSON. Connected access is not the same as live meeting recording or editing the original OneDrive file.

Connect OneDrive

Open Connected Sources to authorize OneDrive and choose a folder.

Use the OneDrive workflow that is already built

Connect OneDrive once, choose a folder and let LongScribe import new supported recordings without a manual download-upload cycle.

Connect OneDrive folder Paste public OneDrive media link

Private OneDrive files require the signed-in user to connect Microsoft OneDrive.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a private OneDrive link here?

Not into the public URL form. Connect your Microsoft OneDrive account to access authorized private files.

Do I need to make a private OneDrive file public?

No. Use the authenticated connected-source or supported file selection workflow.

Can LongScribe watch new recordings in a folder?

Yes, with an enabled connected OneDrive folder source and eligible access. Scan cadence and per-check limits apply.

Can it look into subfolders?

Choose the recursive option where offered and supported by your connected Source settings.

What happens after disconnecting OneDrive?

Future access to connected files and watched Sources stops or is disabled; prior completed transcripts remain subject to the normal account library and retention rules.
