Choose an authenticated file or a recurring folder source

A one-off file selection and an automated watched folder are different workflows. Connect an available provider first. OAuth configuration, plan eligibility and file permissions control what LongScribe can read. Public share-link importing is an alternative only for supported accessible media URLs.

One file from a private drive

Open Connected Sources and select a supported provider and authorized media file, if its picker is available for your account.

New recordings from a folder

Configure an eligible connected folder with a bounded scan and history policy. Regular import can be paid and availability differs by provider and account.

Signed-in Free: 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month. Paid plans offer separate eligibility and limits. The no-account demo can be preview-only; upload size, duration, job count and monthly quotas still apply. A completed transcript does not guarantee optional AI enrichment.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. Check the original recording before publishing quotes, numbers or claims.

Connect to the right provider

Open Connected Sources to check which Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box connectors are enabled. Some require verified OAuth configuration, account permission or a paid plan.

Select one authorized file

For a single recording, use an available connected file picker. Restricted cloud files cannot be retrieved simply by pasting a private browser URL into a public importer.

Watch a folder for future recordings

If eligible, set folder scan settings, a history policy and an import cap. The workflow is not a live call recorder and new recordings do not bypass monthly quotas.

What to do when cloud access is unavailable

Check that the provider is configured and your account has permission. If connection is unavailable, download an authorized file locally and upload it through the separate file form without making it publicly accessible.

Review the transcript and export

Once an accepted job finishes, verify technical terms, names and speaker labels against the recording. Eligible signed-in completed jobs support TXT, DOCX, SRT and JSON exports.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe a private cloud recording?

Yes when a supported authorized connector is enabled. The public link importer does not unlock private files.

Where do I connect Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box?

Open Connected Sources and choose an enabled provider. Availability and permissions vary by connection.

Does LongScribe monitor cloud folders automatically?

An eligible connected folder can be watched after setup. Scan cadence, history selection and quotas limit imports.

Do I need to make my cloud recording public?

No. Use an enabled authenticated connection or download and upload your authorized saved media file.

Can I export timed subtitles from cloud recordings?

Eligible completed signed-in jobs support SRT as well as TXT, DOCX and JSON. Verify timing against the recording.
