SRT AND WEBVTT · REAL DOWNLOAD FORMATS · OCTOBER 10, 2026
SRT (SubRip) is a separate plain-text subtitle file containing numbered captions, start and end timestamps and spoken words. Paste an accessible public video URL in the form above, start transcription, review the generated captions, and choose Download SRT in the app. If the recording is a saved MP3, WAV or video file, use open the app, then choose its file uploader instead.
Download requires an account. Sign in before starting a job you intend to export. Alternatively, an eligible full completed guest demo may be claimed after login from that browser when account allowance remains. Partial demos cannot become full downloads merely by signing in. Plan, job and source limits still apply.

Illustrative formatting only. Both examples use the same invented lines, not a real transcript, live demo, measured recognition benchmark or user recording. LongScribe exports both formats but does not burn subtitles into an existing video. Editing words does not automatically retime original speech boundaries.
The regular Free allowance is 60 transcription minutes across 20 recordings per month; per-job, source-access and file limits also apply. This is not unlimited or guaranteed free export of every video.
Official documentation: YouTube supported caption and subtitle file formats; YouTube Add subtitles and captions. Platform requirements can change.
Use the video URL form above for supported public videos; use the main app for an authorized saved MP3, WAV or video recording.
The app uses accessible captions where supported, or transcribes reachable spoken audio when needed. A job may be blocked by source restrictions.
Check names, caption lengths and timestamp sync. Text edits do not change original time boundaries.
Create a free account or sign in before starting a job you intend to save and download. When the eligible signed-in job completes, choose SRT or WebVTT and import the downloaded file into your player or editor. Full completed guest demos can also be claimed after login from the same browser, subject to the account allowance.
Upload a media file or paste a public video URL. LongScribe generates timestamped captions and exports a separate .srt sidecar file for compatible players, editors and publishing platforms. It does not burn subtitles into the video. You can also download a WebVTT (.vtt) file from the same transcript.
Sign in or register a free account before starting the job you want to export, then paste an accessible public video URL into the form above. When the job finishes, review recognized names and cue boundaries and choose Download SRT or VTT. Full completed guest demos can be claimed after same-browser login with account allowance. For saved audio or video uploads, use the main app.
Each SRT subtitle block contains a number, an HH:MM:SS,mmm start-to-end time range and the caption text. The real sample shown above has two captions with consistent words and timing. A subtitle file is text, not a new video.
SubRip .srt usually uses numeric caption labels and comma-separated milliseconds, such as 00:00:02,000. WebVTT .vtt starts with WEBVTT, typically omits numeric labels and uses a dot in a timestamp like 00:00:02.000. LongScribe already supports both SRT and VTT downloads. Choose the format your video platform accepts.
Paste a supported public YouTube watch, short or youtu.be URL. LongScribe can use accessible captions when available or transcribe reachable spoken audio if captions are missing. Private or blocked YouTube sources are not guaranteed to work; no access control is bypassed.
Use an accessible, supported public video URL or an uploaded media file with audible speech. Video URL submissions require public source access; a local MP3 or WAV recording uses the file uploader in the main app, not the public video URL field above.
The result is a separate .srt file suitable for a compatible editor, video player or platform upload. LongScribe does not burn subtitles into the video or render a new video with captions already embedded.
Private, deleted, login-gated, DRM-protected, age-restricted or region-restricted videos may be inaccessible. Silent footage, music without speech, blocked audio tracks and unsupported sources can also prevent useful captions. Only submit media you have the right to transcribe.
Check names, brand terms, line breaks, punctuation, timing offsets and overlapping speakers before publishing. Automatic captions are editable drafts, not a promise of frame-perfect sync. Editing transcript words does not change the underlying start/end timing boundaries.
For supported video uploads in YouTube Studio, open the language's Subtitles controls and upload a subtitle file with timing. VLC and many video editors can also load an external SRT track. Refer to each tool's current instructions for the exact import menu.
Long jobs can process in the background after an eligible upload/import is accepted. The regular LongScribe Free plan allows 60 transcription minutes across 20 recordings per month, subject to per-job and source-access restrictions. Long recordings are not automatically unlimited, and Premium or another plan may be required.
Paste a supported public video URL in the form above or upload your own authorized saved media file using the LongScribe app. The service uses accessible subtitle tracks where supported or transcribes available spoken audio into timestamped captions. Check the words and timing against the video. Sign in before submitting a job you intend to save, then choose Download SRT (or WebVTT) after an eligible completion; exports are separate caption files, not text burned into the video. The normal signed-in Free plan includes 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month, subject to source, per-job and upload limits. Private, DRM-protected or inaccessible videos cannot be guaranteed.
Have captions already? These tools work with an existing SRT or VTT file in your browser. They do not transcribe the video again.
Create a free account or sign in, provide a supported accessible public video URL, and review the completed timed text. Download SRT or VTT from your signed-in job. Use the main app uploader for authorized local recordings. A full completed guest demo can be claimed from its original browser after login, if eligible.
Yes, for accessible public videos. LongScribe uses usable captions if present, or transcribes reachable spoken audio with AI if needed. Restricted videos may fail.
SRT has numbered subtitle blocks and commas in timecodes. VTT starts with WEBVTT and uses periods for milliseconds. LongScribe offers both formats in its transcript download menu.
Yes, you can correct recognized text. A manual word edit does not retime the source audio, so verify caption boundaries and sync.
Yes. Open the app and upload a supported MP3 or WAV recording with audible speech. After transcription, review and export a separate .srt subtitle file. A saved audio file is uploaded using the main app; the video URL form above accepts links, not file uploads.
YouTube Studio, VLC and many video editors support importing external SRT subtitle files; check the specific editor's current upload format and timing requirements.
No. LongScribe exports a separate .srt sidecar file or .vtt file. Use a video editor or platform renderer if you need captions permanently embedded in the video.
The normal Free plan offers 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month for eligible jobs. You can try the demo without an account, but saving or downloading SRT/VTT requires a signed-in account. Per-job, file and access limits apply; free does not mean every public URL works.

Check the words and timing against the video.
