ZOOM RECORDING TRANSCRIPTION
Transcribe a saved Zoom recording — no bot
THE FINISHED RESULT
A transcript you can actually work with
Search the text, jump back to the exact moment in the video, fix a name, then export the format your workflow needs.
Long recordings keep processing in the background.
Search the finished transcript using clickable timestamps.
Export the result as text, subtitles, Word or JSON.
Public Zoom recording link to text
Paste a supported public Zoom rec/share, rec/play or Zoom Clip URL. LongScribe resolves the recording media and turns the spoken audio into searchable text without asking you to download the MP4 first.
Upload a saved Zoom file when needed
If the public URL is private, password-protected or otherwise unavailable through URL import, use an authorized Zoom account connection when available, or export the saved audio/video from Zoom and upload the file directly to LongScribe.
No live Zoom meeting bot
LongScribe works after the meeting from the saved recording. It does not join, record or transcribe a Zoom call live, and attendees do not need to install a note taker.
Find decisions and action items
Search the transcript for names, owners, deadlines, decisions and open questions. It is faster than replaying a long call when you only need the follow-up list.
Zoom recording to Word (DOCX) transcript
After transcribing a saved Zoom recording, review the timestamped text and export DOCX to work with it in Word. TXT, SRT and JSON exports are also available; this does not require a meeting bot.
Public sharing permissions still apply
LongScribe supports compatible public Zoom recording and clip links. Passcodes, sign-in requirements, removed recordings and organization-only access can still prevent an individual URL from being fetched.
Upload size limits by plan
Direct uploads are capped at 90 MB on the Free plan; uploads can be up to 1 GB on Premium (including Premium Pro) via chunked upload. Supported public URLs are fetched server-side and do not use the browser direct-upload limit.
LongScribe is not a meeting bot
It does not join your Zoom call, appear as a participant or record the meeting live. The workflow starts from a saved cloud recording or recording file after the meeting.
Can Zoom cloud recordings be transcribed automatically?
When Zoom connected Sources are available, an eligible paid user can Follow permitted cloud recordings. The worker checks saved recordings, deduplicates files and imports supported audio/video. This does not record or transcribe a live Zoom meeting.
Three ways to transcribe a Zoom recording
Connect an authorized Zoom account for private cloud recordings, paste an accessible public Zoom recording/Clip URL, or upload a saved audio/video file. Zoom may limit downloads, require a passcode or restrict recordings to organization members; LongScribe does not circumvent any of those controls.
Recording minutes and file-size limits still matter
Importing a saved Zoom recording uses the normal transcription minutes and job allowances. For manual uploads, Free is limited to 90 MB and Premium supports chunked uploads up to 1 GB. Neither a connected account nor an accessible link makes a recording unlimited.
Email and post-processing automation
A Zoom Source can automatically create a summary and chapters after transcription and send an email per finished recording or a digest.
Example prompts across recorded meetings
Ask: Which meetings discussed the Q4 launch? What decisions were made about pricing last month? Find the transcript passages where security requirements were assigned.
Choose a saved Zoom recording source
Connect Zoom cloud recordings for permitted private files and recurring Follow, or upload an authorized saved file. An accessible public Zoom link can use the URL form above. Zoom recording sharing rules still apply.
Use the Zoom workflow that is already built
Connect Zoom once to follow cloud recordings automatically. Accessible share links and saved uploads remain available as secondary paths.
Connect Zoom cloud recordings Paste accessible Zoom recording link
Public Zoom links must be accessible without passcodes or organization-only sign-in; private cloud recordings require the Zoom connection.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a Zoom recording link directly?
Yes for supported public Zoom rec/share, rec/play and Zoom Clip URLs that expose reachable media. Paste the normal public share link; you do not need to extract the MP4 yourself.
Can LongScribe join my Zoom meeting live?
No. LongScribe works after the meeting from a saved public recording link or uploaded file; it does not join or record a live Zoom call.
What about password-protected or private Zoom recordings?
The public URL workflow does not bypass Zoom passcodes, sign-in requirements or organization access controls. Use your authorized Zoom account connection for permitted private cloud recordings when available, or upload an authorized saved file.
How do I convert a Zoom recording into a Word document?
Start with a supported saved Zoom recording file or accessible public replay link. Transcribe the audio, verify names and decisions at timestamps, then export DOCX for Word. LongScribe does not convert an arbitrary existing Zoom .vtt file as a recording input.
What are the LongScribe upload size limits?
Direct uploads are capped at 90 MB on the Free plan; uploads can be up to 1 GB on Premium (including Premium Pro) via chunked upload. Supported public URLs are fetched server-side and do not use the browser direct-upload limit.
Does LongScribe join Zoom calls live?
No. LongScribe works from saved recordings after the meeting.
Can LongScribe connect to Zoom cloud recordings?
Yes when the Zoom connected-source integration is configured for the deployment/account.
Can new Zoom recordings be imported automatically?
Yes on an eligible paid account when a Zoom connected Source is available and Follow is enabled, subject to normal LongScribe quotas. It imports recordings after meetings, not live audio.
Can I paste a public Zoom recording link?
Yes for supported Zoom rec/share, rec/play and Clip URLs when the media is accessible. A page that plays in your browser may still block downloads. The URL route cannot bypass Zoom sign-in, unsatisfied passcodes or organization controls; use a permitted connected Zoom recording or upload an authorized file.
Can I still upload a Zoom recording manually?
Yes. The standard upload workflow remains available.
