Recorded sermon transcription for a church archive

From four weekly sermons to reviewed text

LongScribe is self-service speech-to-text, not a human transcription agency, and is not a live meeting bot. Work only from a saved recording or a supported, accessible public replay for which your church has permission.

Four weekly services: 4 x 60 minutes

That is 240 minutes of recorded material and four separate jobs in a four-service month.

Normal Free has 20 monthly recording jobs and 60 monthly minutes. The job cap applies even if unused minutes remain; a typical four-service workflow fits the normal Free job count.

When recurring services justify Premium

Premium allows up to 500 recordings and 5000 monthly minutes at the published plan terms. File size, per-job duration, source availability, and admission rules still apply. Avoid confusing four recordings with a single 240-minute job.

Illustrative example only - not an actual LongScribe model result

Imagine a service recording that seems to say "John three sixteen". An automated draft might write the wrong chapter or verse. A reviewer should replay the source recording, consult the cited passage and, only if confirmed, enter John 3:16. This is a synthetic teaching example, not a tested accuracy result or a real pastor quotation.

AI draft, human transcription or automatic captions?

Four steps for a responsible weekly archive

  1. Obtain an authorized saved recording: Use a church recording you have permission to process, or a supported public replay. LongScribe does not record a live service.
  2. Transcribe speech and inspect timestamps: Upload the permitted file or supported public URL and examine the AI draft with its time links.
  3. Verify scripture and speaker names against audio: Check Bible book, chapter and verse citations, named people and quotations in the source recording before publication.
  4. Export reviewed text and optional captions: After a person reviews and corrects key passages, export TXT or DOCX for an archive, or separate SRT subtitles for a replay.

Once an eligible completed transcript is saved in a signed-in LongScribe account, the optional Show Notes workflow can help draft a recap. Check all AI-generated notes against the recording before sharing, and do not present them as a pastor-approved study guide without review.

All numbers describe published plan limits, not a guarantee that every church recording is eligible or accurate. No real sermon audio or customer transcript is used in this example.

How to transcribe a recorded sermon

Upload an authorized saved audio or video recording, or paste a supported public YouTube or Facebook replay link. Check the transcript by timestamp and export editable text or a separate SRT subtitle file.

Weekly sermons: calculate recordings and minutes

Four weekly 60-minute services total 240 minutes of recorded material and four recording jobs. Normal Free includes 20 jobs and 60 transcription minutes per month, so a typical four-service workflow fits the normal Free recording-job allowance. Monthly minutes and file conditions still apply.

Sermon transcript or human transcription service?

LongScribe creates an AI first draft from saved recordings. It is not a human-staffed sermon transcription service. Verify scripture, people's names, quotations and places before publishing an official text.

Build a searchable sermon archive

Once corrected, transcripts can support a church archive, lesson notes, weekly newsletter quotations and accessibility. Only publish or share a transcript when you have the necessary rights and permission.

Scripture references and multiple voices

Bible books and verse numbers are easy for speech recognition to confuse. Listen at relevant timestamps to correct passages and speaker turns, especially during group discussion or prayer.

Long recordings, exports and plan limits

Long services are processed as supported background jobs. TXT and DOCX suit reading and editing; SRT is a separate timed subtitle file. File size, source access and account-minute limits still apply.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe a sermon from a YouTube or Facebook replay?

Yes, for supported public replay links with reachable media. Private or restricted recordings need an authorized saved-file upload instead; LongScribe does not bypass access controls.

Can I upload a church service audio recording instead of a video?

Yes. Open the app and upload a supported authorized audio file. Normal plan-specific file-size and minute limits apply.

Can I transcribe weekly sermons for free?

Normal Free includes 20 recording jobs and 60 transcription minutes monthly. Four weekly 60-minute sermons amount to 240 minutes in four jobs, so the workflow fits the normal Free job count, subject to remaining minutes and individual recording limits.

How much is Premium for recurring sermon transcription?

LongScribe Premium costs $4.99/month at the current published rate and includes up to 500 recordings and 5,000 transcription minutes per month. Eligibility, file size and source access rules still apply.

Does LongScribe proofread names and Bible verses?

No human proofreading is included. AI transcription may mishear scripture references and names. Review the recording at timestamps before quoting or publishing.

Can I download sermon captions and written notes?

Yes. Export TXT or DOCX for written notes, SRT for timed caption files, or JSON for structured text. SRT does not burn captions into the original video.

Can AI transcription automatically verify Bible verse references?

No. Speech recognition can confuse chapter numbers, book names and verse references. Check scripture and quotations against the recording and a trusted Bible text.

Are four weekly one-hour sermons within the standard Free plan?

Four weekly one-hour sermons are 240 minutes but four separate recording jobs. Normal Free includes 20 jobs and 60 minutes monthly, so a four-service month fits the normal Free job count; minutes and per-job constraints must be checked separately.
