What's New
The latest useful changes in LongScribe — focused on what you can actually do now.
October 17, 2026
Embedded and script-loaded video links → transcription
Many webinar replays, course lessons and landing pages hide their video behind JavaScript. When a pasted page has no direct media link, LongScribe now opens it in a headless browser, finds the embedded player (such as YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or Loom) or the HLS/MP4/MP3 stream the page requests, and transcribes that recording.
It follows only what a public visitor can play: login-gated pages, DRM, live channels and pages that block our servers still fail, and a link that is not directly playable may need a file upload instead.

YouTube and SoundCloud playlists → batch transcription
Paste a public YouTube playlist link (or a YouTube video link that belongs to one) or a public SoundCloud set. LongScribe lists the videos or tracks with their length, you select the ones you want, and they are transcribed one after another as a single batch. Previewing needs an account; importing a playlist is a Premium feature, and only public playlists and sets work.
The batch panel is clearer too: you now see upload progress for each file, an overall progress bar, and finished files with their actions right under the title.

YouTube Shorts and Rumble Shorts → transcription
Paste a public YouTube Shorts URL or a supported public Rumble Shorts URL directly. Shorts use the same transcription workflow as the corresponding platform's regular videos, including timestamps and transcript exports.

Spotify Podcasts → transcription
Paste a Spotify podcast episode URL. LongScribe uses public episode audio when available, or safely matches the episode to its public podcast feed. Spotify music is not imported.
Much broader public URL support
LongScribe now recognizes 1,000+ public video/audio source patterns, with named support for Rumble, Bilibili, Wistia, Reddit, Kick, Odysee, Mixcloud, Audius, Bandcamp and hosted players including JWPlayer, Cloudflare Stream, Dacast and Kaltura.
Sources: follow recurring content automatically
Add podcast feeds, Spotify-listed shows and supported recurring sources. LongScribe can detect new items, deduplicate them, transcribe them and optionally create summaries, chapters and email notifications.
Cloud & Zoom imports
Connect Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Zoom and import recordings without downloading and re-uploading them manually.
Ask Library + better search
Search across your transcript library with lexical and semantic retrieval, then ask questions across multiple recordings with grounded transcript evidence.
Developer access
REST API, MCP support and the browser extension workflow are available for programmatic and browser-assisted transcription workflows.
