Check link access
Loom's Anyone with the link setting allows viewing without a Loom account. Workspace-only, invited-only, password-protected or removed recordings are not guaranteed to work with LongScribe.
LOOM TRANSCRIPTION
THE FINISHED RESULT
Search the text, jump back to the exact moment in the video, fix a name, then export the format your workflow needs.
Long recordings keep processing in the background.
Search the finished transcript using clickable timestamps.
Export the result as text, subtitles, Word or JSON.

Public visibility and downloadable media are different things. A Loom share link may be viewable in a browser without granting a third-party service access to the actual video file. LongScribe does not sign into private Loom workspaces.

If link extraction fails, ask the recording owner for an authorized MP4. Loom restricts the Download button by plan, role and per-video settings; do not assume every viewer can download it.
After processing, compare the recorded duration, beginning and ending against the transcript. Check names, speaker changes and any missing segments before using it as meeting evidence.
LongScribe signed-in Free: 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month, subject to job duration, file and source restrictions. A no-account demo may show only a short preview. Premium: $4.99/month for 5,000 minutes per month across 500 recordings. Eligibility and per-job limits still apply.
This source-access guide is published by LongScribe. Official platform documentation: Loom video privacy settings, Loom download rights and limitations. Reviewed October 12, 2026. A supported page URL does not guarantee that a specific recording has an accessible and complete audio stream. Always verify permission, the original recording and the finished transcript.
| Decision point | Supported public link | Authorized file |
|---|---|---|
| Best first input | Public anyone-with-link Loom /share/ URL | An MP4 obtained with the owner's permission |
| Access requirement | LongScribe must retrieve accessible media without Loom account login | You need a legitimately downloadable and authorized recording |
| Private or password link | Not bypassed; may fail even if it plays for a signed-in viewer | Only if the owner grants you a file and the right to process it |
| When import may fail | Loom access rules, unavailable media, expired tokens or extraction changes | File type, upload size, plan and duration limits |
| Result | Timestamped transcript after a completed eligible recording job | The same transcript workflow after an eligible uploaded file |
| Downloads | Eligible signed-in completed jobs: TXT, DOCX, SRT, JSON | The same signed-in export formats |
| Before publishing | Check the first and last spoken sections against the original video | Check names, numbers, timestamps and consent |
Use a supported Loom share link that can be viewed without signing into a private workspace. The app verifies whether it can actually access the media; a visible thumbnail alone does not establish extractable audio.
Viewing permission, video-download permission and third-party media retrieval are separate. Private workspace access, passwords, deleted videos and extractor restrictions cannot be bypassed by LongScribe.
Ask the owner to provide an authorized MP4 if their Loom plan, role and video settings allow download. Use LongScribe's normal file-upload flow; do not share account cookies or passwords.
Confirm that the transcription includes both the opening and final words of the recording. Verify key quotations, speaker labels and timestamp gaps before exporting.
Yes, when a supported Loom share URL exposes media that LongScribe can retrieve without account authentication. Public viewing alone does not guarantee extraction.
Not through a public-link workflow that has no Loom login. Ask the owner for an authorized file instead.
Loom controls public viewing, downloading and workspace access separately. A browser session may have rights that LongScribe's media downloader does not.
Yes, if you legitimately downloaded or received the recording and have permission to transcribe it. File size, duration and plan limits still apply.
Compare timestamps and spoken content at the start and end of the original recording; correct omissions and misheard names before using or sharing the text.
