One recorded episode
Upload a supported audio file or paste an accessible episode video/audio URL into the main transcription app. Review timestamps, then export text or subtitles.
Transcribe one episodeUpload a podcast audio recording you have permission to process or use a supported public episode source. Review the speakers and timecodes, then export text or SRT. Account and source limits apply.
TWO PODCAST WORKFLOWS
Choose the input that matches your recording. A podcast RSS feed is not a single audio file; use the dedicated Sources importer to preview episodes.
Upload a supported audio file or paste an accessible episode video/audio URL into the main transcription app. Review timestamps, then export text or subtitles.
Transcribe one episodeOpen Sources, preview real episodes, choose which ones to import and optionally follow the feed on an eligible paid plan. A Spotify show works only when it resolves to an exact public RSS feed; protected Spotify audio is not downloaded.
Import a podcast sourceFree: up to 20 recordings and 60 minutes per month for eligible jobs. Each source and recording must satisfy access, upload-size and plan limits. LongScribe does not promise access to private or subscriber-only feeds.
Official provider sources for verification. See the dated comparisons below; prices and limits can change.
For a single public podcast episode, open LongScribe, paste a supported accessible episode URL or upload your recording, then review its timestamped transcript and export DOCX, TXT, SRT or JSON. For an RSS feed or Apple Podcasts/Spotify show URL, use the Sources importer to preview and select episodes instead of submitting the feed as if it were one audio file.
An episode recording is processed as one transcription job. A podcast RSS URL describes a list of episodes and is handled by the Sources importer at /sources: preview the feed, select episodes, choose initial imports and, for eligible paid accounts, follow new episodes automatically.
Apple Podcasts show links can resolve to their public RSS feed when exposed. A Spotify show link is supported only if LongScribe can match it confidently to an exact public RSS podcast feed. The app does not download DRM-protected or otherwise restricted Spotify audio. If a show cannot be resolved, use the publisher's RSS feed or an authorized recording file.
Use LongScribe when you need a searchable, timestamped transcript, downloadable text and optional speaker labels. Choose a podcast editor for multitrack editing and publishing, or a human transcription service when certified verbatim review is required. Those tasks are not interchangeable.
A reviewed transcript gives listeners a searchable, accessible companion to the episode. Publishing it on an episode page can help readers discover specific topics and verify quotes, but does not guarantee Google rankings or organic traffic.
A full episode transcript makes it easier to write show notes, pull guest quotes, summarize topics and add links after recording. Search the text instead of replaying the whole episode.
Clickable timestamps help you jump back to the relevant point in the recording. That is useful when checking a quote, finding a sponsor read, reviewing a guest answer or clipping a highlight.
For video podcasts, export timed SRT subtitles for YouTube or a video editor. The same transcript can also be exported as clean text for a website episode page.
Try a short supported episode in the browser. The normal Free allowance is 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month. Separate file and source limits still apply.
For 1–3 hour podcast episodes, long jobs can continue processing in the background while you close the tab and do something else. Upload a supported file up to the direct-upload size limit or paste a supported public recording link. The finished transcript keeps timestamps for review and can be exported as TXT, DOCX, SRT or JSON.
Save the podcast under Sources and enable Follow. LongScribe checks the feed on a schedule, deduplicates episodes it has already seen and queues only new items. You can cap how many new episodes are imported per check so a busy feed does not flood your transcription queue.
Yes. Ask Library retrieves relevant excerpts across completed transcripts and can filter by a saved source, platform or date range. This is useful for recurring research questions such as finding every episode where a company, person or topic was discussed.
Ask: What did this show say about NVIDIA in the last 90 days? Compare how the host described interest rates across recent episodes. Find the episodes where the guest discussed pricing and show the supporting transcript excerpts.
Yes, AI can transcribe an eligible five-hour podcast: it is 300 minutes of material. The 60-minute Free monthly allowance is smaller than the 300-minute recording, so Free cannot cover it without some separately eligible allowance. That is not a guarantee of one-job admission. Verify per-job duration and source rules, audio availability and file size. The Free quick upload ceiling is 90 MB; eligible Premium chunked uploads can reach 1 GB. A supported accessible public audio URL avoids browser file upload but still has source and downloader restrictions. Jobs run in the background when admitted; speaker labeling has separate eligibility and can consume additional minutes.
An accessible single-episode URL or authorized file becomes one transcription job. RSS, Apple Podcasts and supported Spotify show URLs belong in Sources to choose and follow episodes. A finished timestamped transcript can be searched or exported; eligible accounts can use AI Show Notes and Ask Library on saved completed transcripts. The generated notes are drafts, not independently verified statements.
You can transcribe an accessible saved episode, but simultaneous speakers remain difficult. In the standard-ASR benchmark v1, five short overlap clips had 36.13% WER (43 errors / 119 reference words), versus 1.60% WER (2/125) for five clean single-speaker clips. These are text errors, not a measurement of speaker-label accuracy. Consider separately eligible Premium speaker labels, then verify interruptions and quotes against the audio. These are self-published September 11, 2026 results from the then production-primary Groq Whisper large-v3-turbo ASR path on only five short speech clips per slice. They do not measure a whole long file, current accuracy on every language or speaker attribution.
A feed is not one audio recording. Open Sources at /sources to preview and import the episodes from a supported public RSS or Apple Podcasts/Spotify show URL.
Open Sources, paste the show URL and preview the episodes. Apple Podcasts or Spotify links must resolve to a reachable public podcast RSS feed. Protected Spotify-hosted audio is not downloaded, and some shows cannot be matched.
An eligible paid account can choose to follow a supported podcast feed after importing it. Free and one-off users can select episodes for manual import subject to plan limits.
Use an accessible public episode link or upload an eligible episode recording. The normal Free allowance is 20 recordings and 60 minutes per month; size, source accessibility and account eligibility also matter.
Yes. Search and edit the transcript, copy key topics and guest quotes, then export the finished text as TXT or DOCX for your episode page.
LongScribe produces timed transcript segments with clickable timestamps. Names and speaker changes should be reviewed before publishing.
Yes. The finished transcript can be downloaded as SRT subtitles for a video podcast, as well as TXT, DOCX and JSON.
Yes, subject to the source and account limits. Long jobs process in the background. Direct uploads are limited by file size, so a supported public recording link can be the better path for a large episode.
Premium speaker diarization can separate detected turns into speaker labels. Rename those labels to the host and guest names, then review overlapping speech before exporting.
Not by default. The safe default is new episodes only. You can choose an initial latest-3, latest-5, latest-10, latest-20 or gradual archive import policy.
