A public article URL alone is not sufficient. LongScribe needs retrievable audio or video, not just a newsletter title. Subscriber-only streams and private RSS feeds do not become public by pasting a URL.

A Substack publication may have a public /feed, but this does not mean every newsletter contains podcast audio.
Substack can issue personalized subscriber RSS feeds. Do not share private feed URLs or expect bypass of their access controls.

Start with a public video or podcast post containing actual spoken audio. Text-only newsletters, teasers without media and deleted recordings cannot produce a speech transcript.
Substack offers publication /feed RSS URLs and also personalized private podcast RSS subscriptions. The public feed is not proof that a particular article includes playable media.
Check whether the exact post is public, still plays audio and exposes retrievable media. Restricted or removed posts are not bypassed. If permitted, upload the original saved media from the creator.
Use transcript timestamps to confirm guest names, quote context and full recording duration. TXT, DOCX, SRT and JSON exports require an eligible completed signed-in job; demos may show a short preview.
No. Speech transcription requires actual audio/video; a written newsletter already contains text.
No. It needs retrievable playable speech media and must satisfy source and quota checks.
It does not bypass private or paid access controls. Private RSS feeds are subscriber-specific.
Ask the owner for an authorized media file to upload, subject to normal size and duration limits.
Yes for eligible completed signed-in media transcriptions, alongside TXT, DOCX and JSON.
