Public Telegram posts versus private channels
A public channel post with accessible media is the intended input. A t.me/c/ private-channel address, invite link, login-only post or deleted media does not become public because a person is signed into Telegram on their phone. LongScribe does not bypass these access controls.
Why a Telegram URL can fail before transcription
The post may be text-only, removed, permission-gated or temporarily missing playable media. Check that the public post contains accessible speech; retrying a genuinely private recording does not grant LongScribe access.

A reviewed transcript makes long statements and interviews searchable by words and timestamps. Check names, numbers and claims against the original before quoting or publishing.
Telegram jobs, Free minutes and separate subtitle exports
The normal signed-in Free plan includes 20 recording jobs and 60 transcription minutes monthly, subject to retrieval and individual-job limits. An authorized saved local file can instead be uploaded under the normal 90 MB Free or 1 GB Premium manual upload cap. SRT/VTT is a separate caption file, not subtitles burned into Telegram video.
Frequently asked questions
Does a long recording transcribe in full without an account?
An eligible anonymous recording up to 180 minutes may be processed in full. A longer recording may receive only a 15-minute preview. Sign in for eligible full recordings within the separate Free plan's monthly job/minute budget; source access and individual-job rules still apply.
Which Telegram URL formats are supported?
Use a canonical public t.me post link, such as https://t.me/publicchannel/123, with retrievable voice or video media. Alias domains may not be recognized by the importer. Private t.me/c/ posts, invites and login-only recordings are not supported.
Does this page also handle public Telegram voice messages?
Yes, when the public message exposes retrievable speech audio. For video-only Telegram posts, see the dedicated Telegram Video Transcription page; the same public-access rules apply.
Can I paste any public Telegram channel post?
Only posts with media that LongScribe can actually retrieve. A text-only post has no speech to transcribe, and deleted or access-restricted media can fail.
Will a private Telegram channel URL work if I am logged in?
No. The public URL form does not inherit your Telegram session or unlock t.me/c/ posts. Use an authorized saved file upload if you can lawfully download the recording.
Why does a Telegram link fail when it opens on my phone?
Your phone may already be signed into Telegram or hold a private channel membership; LongScribe does not. Check whether the post and media are publicly retrievable.
Can I export Telegram subtitles and search the result?
For an eligible completed job you can export a separate SRT/VTT subtitle file, TXT, DOCX or JSON. The signed-in transcript library can also be searched.
Can Ask Library search Telegram transcripts?
Yes after the Telegram media has completed transcription and is stored in your library.
