Box transcription quick answer

LongScribe reads authorized saved Box media through a connected Box OAuth account, not by bypassing private shared links. Select one file in the picker or configure bounded folder follow. Box download permissions and account eligibility still apply.

Single Box file versus recurring folder watch

For one recording, choose a permitted file in the connected Box picker. A folder Source instead checks selected folders for new eligible media under a configurable policy and item cap. A new-only policy is not a full backfill of all existing files.

What if Box rejects a recording?

Check that the connected user has file access and download permission, and whether an enterprise admin blocks third-party applications. LongScribe cannot override a Box restriction; upload an authorized local copy if you are allowed to download it.

Box transcription limits and exports

Free normally offers 20 recording jobs and 60 minutes per month. Connected folder automation also depends on eligibility and provider setup. Manual uploads are limited to 90 MB on Free and up to 1 GB on Premium. A completed eligible job can export TXT, DOCX, JSON and separate timed SRT/VTT.

How to transcribe Box audio and video files

Connect Box, choose Box audio/video files from the cloud picker or select a watched folder, then let LongScribe import supported media into the same transcript pipeline used for uploads.

Choose a Box file

Use the native cloud import picker to choose a Box file from your connected account and send it directly into the transcription form without downloading it to your computer first.

Watch a Box folder

A recurring Box Source can scan a selected folder, include subfolders when enabled and import new supported audio/video files with a per-check cap.

Box vs Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive

Box follows the same connected-source pattern as Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive: authorize the provider, choose a file or folder, keep imports bounded and review finished transcripts in Library.

Private Box files stay in the authenticated workflow

LongScribe fetches authorized Box media through the connected OAuth account and stores the resulting job in the user's private LongScribe workspace rather than asking for a public sharing link.

Example prompts after Box transcription

Ask: Which Box recordings mention the renewal date? Summarize the action items from this folder. Compare the last three interview transcripts from the research archive.

Connect Box

Open Connected Sources to authorize Box and choose a file or folder.

Use the Box workflow that is already built

Connect Box once, choose a folder and let LongScribe import new supported recordings without a manual download-upload cycle.

Connect Box folder Upload exported Box media file

Private Box files require the signed-in user to connect Box. Box OAuth must be configured on the server before the Connect button is available.

Box access controls still apply

Connect an authorized Box file or folder or upload an allowed saved file. Box documents user and app permission scopes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe private Box files without a share link?

Yes, when a connected Box account and the Box application have the required read/download permissions. A publicly shared link is not needed for authenticated Box import.

Does watching a Box folder import all old recordings?

Not by default. Choose a suitable import policy; new-only is different from historical backfill. Folder options include subfolders and a per-check item cap.

Why is a Box recording missing from the picker?

Check which Box account is connected, its folder access and download permissions, and any enterprise access policy. The app cannot retrieve content the account cannot read.

Is Box folder transcription available on the Free plan?

Free normally includes 20 recordings and 60 minutes. Connected Sources and automatic folder follow can require an eligible paid plan. Alternatively upload a permitted saved file within your file-size and minute allowances.

What can I export after Box transcription?

For an eligible completed job, TXT or DOCX text, JSON and timed SRT/VTT subtitle files. Export does not edit the Box original.

Can LongScribe transcribe Box files?

Yes. Connect Box and choose a Box file from the cloud import picker, or configure a watched Box folder.

How do I transcribe Box audio/video files?

Connect Box, pick a supported audio or video file, confirm the job settings and start transcription. For repeated imports, create a Box Source that watches a folder.

Can LongScribe watch a Box folder automatically?

Yes when the Box integration is connected. Configure the folder, recursive scanning, import policy and per-check cap in Connected Sources.

Does LongScribe copy or store Box files?

LongScribe downloads authorized Box media into private job storage for processing and stores the resulting transcript in the user's workspace; it does not make the Box file public.

Do I need a public Box link?

No for the connected Box workflow; LongScribe uses the authorized Box connection to retrieve permitted files.

What file types work from Box?

The Box picker and folder worker accept supported audio and video files such as MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and other media formats handled by LongScribe.
