Supported video and audio transcription sources
Transcribe for free →Popular platforms
LongScribe has dedicated or verified source paths for the most recognizable consumer platforms: YouTube videos and Shorts, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo, Twitch, X, Dailymotion and SoundCloud, plus Rumble videos and Shorts, Loom, LinkedIn and Panopto.
More public sources and video hosting/player platforms
Beyond the popular platforms, LongScribe has verified source paths for Wistia, Reddit, Kick, Patreon, Odysee, Bluesky, Webex, Zoom, Acast, Mixcloud, Audius, Bandcamp, Bilibili, Spotify podcast episodes and the video hosting/player technologies Kaltura, JWPlayer, Cloudflare Stream and Dacast. The source name is stored with the job so your library stays easy to filter.
Rumble videos and Shorts from a public URL
Paste a public Rumble video URL or a rumble.com/shorts/... link. LongScribe can resolve supported public Rumble media without requiring you to download the video first. Availability still depends on the individual recording.
Loom, LinkedIn and Panopto transcription
Public Loom shares, LinkedIn videos and Panopto recordings can be recognized by the same URL workflow. Multi-hour recordings continue in the background and appear in your LongScribe library when complete.
Universal URL import
If a URL is not one of LongScribe's named first-class sources, the universal importer can still try a dedicated extractor, embedded-player detection and a generic public-media fallback. That expands coverage across 1,000+ public video and audio source patterns.
Pages with embedded or script-loaded players
Web pages whose player is loaded by JavaScript (webinar replays, online-course lessons, sales and landing pages) are handled too: when a page has no direct media link, LongScribe opens it in a headless browser, finds the embedded player (for example YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or Loom) or the HLS/MP4/MP3 stream the page itself requests, and transcribes that recording. It only follows what a public visitor can play: login-gated pages, DRM, live channels, pages that block our servers and pages with several unrelated videos are not fetched, and none of this is a guarantee for an individual URL.
Why an individual link can still fail
A supported source is not the same as guaranteed access to every recording. Private sessions, subscriber-only pages, DRM, geo-blocking, expired media and upstream site changes can make a particular URL unavailable.
Upload a file when a source cannot be fetched
If you have the recording file and are allowed to use it, upload the audio or video directly instead. The same transcription, editing and export workflow applies.

Frequently asked questions
What sites can LongScribe transcribe?
Popular platforms including YouTube videos and Shorts, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, X, Dailymotion and SoundCloud, plus Rumble videos and Shorts, Loom, LinkedIn, Panopto and many public video hosting/player sources such as Wistia, Reddit hosted video, Kick clips/VODs, public Patreon video posts, Odysee videos, Bluesky video posts, public Webex and Zoom recordings, Acast episodes, Mixcloud shows, Audius tracks, Bandcamp tracks, Bilibili videos, JWPlayer-hosted video, Cloudflare Stream video, Dacast VOD, Kaltura video and Spotify podcast episodes. Universal URL import also covers 1,000+ public video and audio source patterns when a compatible public media path is available.
Can LongScribe transcribe a Spotify podcast?
For a single episode, yes: paste the episode URL directly. LongScribe uses the episode's public audio when Spotify exposes it, or the same episode from the show's public podcast feed when it can be matched with high confidence -- never Spotify's protected playback, and never a fuzzy title-only guess. Spotify music (tracks, albums, playlists, artists) is not supported; a whole show is added under Sources, not the one-off transcription box.
Can LongScribe transcribe a Rumble video or Short from its URL?
Yes for supported public Rumble videos and Shorts. Paste a normal Rumble video URL or a rumble.com/shorts/... URL; LongScribe can resolve public Rumble media and use its general source pipeline when needed.
Does LongScribe support YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Public youtube.com/shorts/... URLs use the normal YouTube transcription workflow, including captions-first handling and AI audio fallback when needed.
Can I transcribe Loom, LinkedIn or Panopto recordings?
Yes for supported public Loom, LinkedIn and Panopto recording URLs. Private, login-only or organization-restricted recordings may require a different access path or may not be available.
Does 1,000+ sources mean every URL always works?
No. It describes broad source-pattern coverage, not a guarantee for every individual URL. Login requirements, DRM, regional restrictions, deleted media and source-site changes can prevent a recording from being fetched.
Can LongScribe transcribe a webinar replay or course page where the video is embedded?
Often, yes.
What if my site is not listed?
Paste the public video or audio URL anyway. LongScribe's universal URL import can recognize additional dedicated extractors and embedded players without requiring every site to be listed on this page.
Does support for Kaltura, JWPlayer, Cloudflare Stream or Dacast mean every site using them works?
No. These are video hosting and player technologies embedded by many different sites, universities and companies, each with their own access rules -- not single consumer platforms. LongScribe supports reachable public video/player/recording URLs built on them; private, login-gated, DRM-protected or organization-restricted media is not accessible through the public URL workflow, no matter which site embeds the player.
