How to transcribe a YouTube playlist
Paste a public playlist URL
Use a public youtube.com/playlist link or a youtube.com/watch link containing both v and list IDs; private and members-only items cannot be imported.
Sign in and preview videos
LongScribe lists available videos and their durations, without beginning transcription.
Choose eligible recordings
Select videos within the current per-import cap and your Premium allowance. Missing, private, live or upcoming videos may not be eligible.
Import, review and export
Premium queues the selected recordings as a batch. Review each completed video transcript and export TXT, SRT, DOCX or JSON.

Unlike one-video transcription, a playlist import lets a signed-in user review a group of public videos and select which recordings to process. Each selected video becomes its own transcription job; there is no combined master transcript.

Sign in to browse a playlist and see available videos. Previewing does not use transcription minutes. Importing selected videos is a Premium feature, with batch-size, recording and minute limits.
Caption-first when possible
For supported YouTube recordings, LongScribe prefers available captions. When captions are missing, AI audio transcription can be used if the source is reachable and the account has enough allowance.
Not private YouTube playback
LongScribe cannot bypass private, members-only, age-gated, region-restricted or unavailable videos. Live or upcoming videos are not eligible to import as finished playlist recordings.
Downloads after each video finishes
Find timestamps, correct words and export TXT, timed SRT subtitles, DOCX or JSON from completed jobs. Check publication-sensitive quotes against the original video.
Frequently asked questions
Can I transcribe an entire YouTube playlist?
With Premium, you can import eligible videos from a public playlist as separate transcription jobs, selecting up to the batch limit shown in the app. Preview the list first, rather than starting every video blindly.
Is YouTube playlist batch transcription free?
No. A signed-in account can preview a public YouTube playlist; importing several selected videos as a batch is a Premium feature. Ordinary single-video transcription still has its own Free allowance.
Will previewing a playlist start a paid job?
No. Previewing lists available videos, titles and durations for selection. A transcription job is created only after you explicitly choose recordings and confirm the Premium import.
Can private, members-only or live playlist videos be imported?
Private, members-only, inaccessible, live or upcoming videos cannot be imported as completed public recordings. LongScribe does not bypass YouTube access restrictions.
Can I turn playlist videos into SRT or Word files?
Yes. After an eligible video has completed transcription, download its own TXT, SRT, DOCX or JSON file. Playlist import does not create one merged file.
