One question across several completed recordings

Ask Library retrieves relevant passages from saved transcripts that belong to your account. Ask which interviews mention an issue, compare discussion themes or revisit a recurring topic across podcast episodes. It cannot search media that has not been transcribed.

Find a concept without remembering exact words

The retrieval pipeline can combine lexical terms and semantic evidence where available. Paraphrases may surface even if your question does not match the exact spoken phrase, but no keyword or semantic search is guaranteed to recover every possible mention.

Narrow results by Source, platform or date

Use the existing library controls to select a followed Source, restrict the platform or set a date range. These controls filter the recordings considered, not external websites or another person's private library.

Answers carry excerpts, not an accuracy guarantee

The tool can cite retrieved evidence with source titles, snippets and timestamps when present. The default question uses a bounded number of candidate sources, so a short answer is not an exhaustive audit of hundreds of recordings. Check important wording and context in the original file.

Private access and AI feature availability

Sign in to work with your own saved, completed transcripts. The AI question-and-answer feature may be subject to account usage limits, provider availability and source eligibility. It does not open or index private files outside the permissions of your LongScribe account.

Find what someone said across recordings

  1. Transcribe and save eligible interviews, podcasts or meetings under the same signed-in account.
  2. Open Ask Library, enter one specific question, and optionally choose Source, platform and date filters.
  3. Read the answer and supporting excerpts; check the recording before reusing a sensitive claim.
  4. Change the wording or filter and repeat if you need broader coverage. Empty or uncertain results are possible.

Frequently asked questions

Can I search across several recordings at once?

Yes, Ask Library retrieves relevant excerpts across your completed LongScribe transcripts and answers questions from them.

Does it understand meaning instead of exact words only?

It uses text retrieval and semantic support when available. Paraphrase matches can help, but comprehensive recall is not guaranteed.

Can I filter results to one podcast or a date range?

Yes. Supported Source, platform and date filters restrict which saved recordings the search considers.

Will it search untranscribed audio or other people's files?

No. It uses eligible completed transcripts that the signed-in user is authorized to access.

Are the answer and source excerpts enough for a formal citation?

Not on their own. Verify quotations, numbers and context against the underlying recording before relying on them.
