TASK WORKFLOW · October 14, 2026

AI summaries are helpful, but the transcript is the source

The transcription job and the optional AI-generated summary are separate steps. Automated summary, chapters and quotes are best-effort and may not appear if the provider is unavailable or the optional step fails. Verify any key claim against the full transcript or recording.

Public URL

Paste a supported accessible recording above. A public link cannot unlock a restricted video or podcast.

Private recording

Use the authorized file upload tool instead. Summaries are supplementary, not an alternative to the completed transcript.

Signed-in Free: 60 minutes across 20 recordings per month. Paid plans offer separate eligibility and limits. The no-account demo can be preview-only; upload size, duration, job count and monthly quotas still apply. A completed transcript does not guarantee optional AI enrichment.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. Check the original recording before publishing quotes, numbers or claims.

Start with a transcript

Submit a supported accessible public video or podcast URL. A job must be eligible and complete before a transcript is available for automatic summary generation.

Why a summary or chapters might be missing

Summary generation is a separate, best-effort AI step. A job can finish transcription even if optional summaries, chapters or quote extraction do not complete.

Verify chapter titles and quotes

Generated chapters and key quotes help navigation, but their wording and context may be inaccurate. Check important claims, speaker names and direct quotes against the original recording and transcript.

Ask AI needs an available completed transcript

When Ask AI is enabled for an eligible finished job, you can ask focused follow-up questions. Availability, context window and request limits can restrict answers; do not rely on the AI response as verified testimony.

Public URL versus local recording

The input above accepts a supported public URL. For a saved private audio/video file, use the file-upload tool without changing its sharing permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Does every transcript get an AI summary?

No. Summary generation is best-effort. Transcription can succeed even if the optional summary step fails or is unavailable.

Can the generated summary replace the original recording?

No. Summaries can omit details or misstate context. Verify names, numbers and quotes against the recording.

Does this page accept a local audio or video file?

The form here accepts a public link. Use the separate file-upload tool for a saved recording.

Can I get chapters or key quotes?

When a signed-in user requests the summary for a finished job, the output may include chapters and quotes; verify them.

Can I ask questions about the transcript?

Ask AI is available on eligible completed jobs when configured and within its request and context limits.
