LOOM SOURCE / SRT TEXT EXPORT
Convert Loom speech to SRT
THE FINISHED RESULT
A transcript you can actually work with
Search the text, jump back to the exact moment in the video, fix a name, then export the format your workflow needs.
Long recordings keep processing in the background.
Search the finished transcript using clickable timestamps.
Export the result as text, subtitles, Word or JSON.
Can LongScribe reach the Loom recording?
This workflow starts from a reachable public Loom recording. Private workspace recordings, signed-in access and expired share links can prevent extraction; some public pages may still fail. The recording must contain understandable spoken audio; a successful public page load is not a media extraction guarantee.
What the SRT result actually contains
The completed transcript exports as timed subtitle cues, intended for adding captions in a video editor. SRT times are approximate speech segments, not pixel-perfect captions or burned-in subtitles. You will not get a binary media transcoding or a copied copy of the hosted video.
One transcription, five available text formats
After processing the recording once, the saved account job can offer TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON transcript downloads. The requested format is highlighted; downloading it requires normal job completion and account permissions.
Timed subtitles for public Loom walkthroughs
Use an accessible Loom walkthrough's spoken audio to create an SRT subtitle track for a separate editor or player. The tool does not caption pixels or text shown on screen.
When a Loom link cannot be processed
Workspace-only and restricted Loom links may not expose retrievable audio. Even a public link can fail; try an authorized recording file instead and review cue timing.
Synchronize Loom voice-over captions with an edited clip
SRT suits an approved re-edited Loom tutorial when a video editor needs a separate timed subtitle file. Follow the narrator's actual speech; a cursor movement that nobody described will not appear in the captions. If you shorten the demo or change its opening sequence, check cue offsets and reread each technical term. Generating this export does not insert a subtitle track into Loom's native viewer or burn text into the original video.
Loom recording to SRT: the actual steps
- Copy a link to a reachable public Loom recording that you may process. Do not paste private passwords or tokens into public sharing links.
- Submit it using the form above. The link is transferred in the same browser session, not written into the URL you navigate to. LongScribe must retrieve the audio and recognize intelligible speech.
- After a completed account job, open Download and choose SRT. You can edit or review the result before sharing. No automatic download is triggered.
Output: timed subtitle cues for adding captions in a video editor. SRT times are approximate speech segments, not pixel-perfect captions or burned-in subtitles.
Source restrictions: Private workspace recordings, signed-in access and expired share links can prevent extraction; some public pages may still fail.
Account and export: A registered Free account has job/minute limits. An anonymous attempt can provide only a short preview; it does not promise a full downloadable transcript. The five exports come from the same finished transcript, not five separate transcription jobs.

Already have subtitle captions?
After downloading SRT, change its format, correct cue structure or shift the timing without starting another transcription.
Frequently asked questions
Can I turn a Loom recording into SRT?
Yes, if the Loom audio is accessible, is decodable, contains understandable speech and completes within account limits. Then choose SRT from the completed transcript's Download menu.
Does Loom to SRT download or convert the video itself?
No. SRT is a written speech transcript export; this is not an MP4, MP3 or other audiovisual transcoding service.
What if my Loom link is restricted?
Private workspace recordings, signed-in access and expired share links can prevent extraction; some public pages may still fail. Use an authorized accessible recording file instead when supported. LongScribe does not bypass private media access.
Can I choose another format after receiving SRT?
Yes. A completed account job offers TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON from the same transcript; it does not require five uploads.
Is a complete transcript download available without an account?
Do not assume so. Guest processing may return a shortened preview. Sign in, complete an eligible job and use your account's remaining job/minute limits for full exports.
