FLAC INPUT / SRT TRANSCRIPT EXPORT

Convert FLAC speech to SRT

Upload your lossless FLAC recording containing spoken words. LongScribe transcribes the speech, then lets you export a SRT subtitle file. This converts speech to written text; it does not transcode the original sound or video to another media container.

Use genuine FLAC media, not a renamed recording

The direct uploader accepts filenames ending in .flac. Typical inputs include archived spoken-word audio, lectures or an interview master. Lossless sound does not correct microphone clipping or inaudible speech. Audio decoding depends on the underlying codec and the recording, not on the extension alone.

What the SRT download contains

The output is a SRT subtitle file based on recognized speech. It is designed for video caption timing and subtitle editing. Subtitle timings are generated from speech segments and need proofreading. The source recording is not altered by downloading this file.

Review the words before sharing

Listen back to the original FLAC recording and inspect proper names, numerical values, jargon and background speech. Automatic segment times and speaker turns may need revision.

Use the same transcript in other formats

One completed transcription can also be downloaded in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. You do not need to submit the recording five times to obtain different export types.

How to turn FLAC speech into SRT

  1. Choose an authorized .flac audio recording containing audible speech. The quick form displays its file-size limit; larger eligible Premium recordings require the main app's chunked uploader.
  2. Upload to begin AI speech-to-text. Wait for the job to finish, then check people, numbers and timestamps in the transcript.
  3. On the completed job, open Download on the completed job and select SRT. The download is a SRT subtitle file.

Format warning: Lossless sound does not correct microphone clipping or inaudible speech.

Export detail: subtitle timings are generated from speech segments and need proofreading. A recording without understandable speech cannot yield meaningful transcript text.

Free account: 60 transcription minutes across 20 jobs per month, subject to per-job, file-size and source restrictions. Trying without an account can return a shortened preview instead of a full downloadable job.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a file in FLAC format and download SRT?

Yes, if the .flac audio recording is decodable and contains understandable speech, and the job completes within your limits. Afterward, open Download on the completed job and select SRT.

Does FLAC to SRT change the original media?

No. The output is a SRT subtitle file generated from spoken words; it is not a byte-for-byte media format conversion.

Why might an upload of FLAC fail?

Lossless sound does not correct microphone clipping or inaudible speech. The recording can also exceed the upload, duration or account limits. Try a small unprotected file first.

Can I get SRT for free?

An account includes 60 minutes and 20 jobs per month, with source/file restrictions. An anonymous try can be preview-only; do not assume every export is available without a completed job.

Can I also export my FLAC transcript as another format?

Yes. The same completed job has TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON download options, subject to normal access restrictions.
