AIF INPUT / TXT TRANSCRIPT EXPORT

Convert AIF speech to TXT

Upload your AIF (AIFF) audio file containing spoken words. LongScribe transcribes the speech, then lets you export a plain-text transcript. This converts speech to written text; it does not transcode the original sound or video to another media container.

Use genuine AIF media, not a renamed recording

The direct uploader accepts filenames ending in .aif. Typical inputs include a legacy Mac audio recording or spoken-word edit. AIF is an alternate AIFF extension; sample quality still matters. Audio decoding depends on the underlying codec and the recording, not on the extension alone.

What the TXT download contains

The output is a plain-text transcript based on recognized speech. It is designed for searchable notes and clean copy/paste. Txt is editable speech text, not a converted copy of the media waveform. The source recording is not altered by downloading this file.

Review the words before sharing

Listen back to the original AIF recording and inspect proper names, numerical values, jargon and background speech. Automatic segment times and speaker turns may need revision.

Use the same transcript in other formats

One completed transcription can also be downloaded in TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. You do not need to submit the recording five times to obtain different export types.

How to turn AIF speech into TXT

  1. Choose an authorized .aif audio recording containing audible speech. The quick form displays its file-size limit; larger eligible Premium recordings require the main app's chunked uploader.
  2. Upload to begin AI speech-to-text. Wait for the job to finish, then check people, numbers and timestamps in the transcript.
  3. On the completed job, open Download on the completed job and select TXT. The download is a plain-text transcript.

Format warning: AIF is an alternate AIFF extension; sample quality still matters.

Export detail: TXT is editable speech text, not a converted copy of the media waveform. A recording without understandable speech cannot yield meaningful transcript text.

Free account: 60 transcription minutes across 20 jobs per month, subject to per-job, file-size and source restrictions. Trying without an account can return a shortened preview instead of a full downloadable job.

Browse all supported input/output formats. For large recordings, go through the main uploader; you can select the same export format after processing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a file in AIF format and download TXT?

Yes, if the .aif audio recording is decodable and contains understandable speech, and the job completes within your limits. Afterward, open Download on the completed job and select TXT.

Does AIF to TXT change the original media?

No. The output is a plain-text transcript generated from spoken words; it is not a byte-for-byte media format conversion.

Why might an upload of AIF fail?

AIF is an alternate AIFF extension; sample quality still matters. The recording can also exceed the upload, duration or account limits. Try a small unprotected file first.

Can I get TXT for free?

An account includes 60 minutes and 20 jobs per month, with source/file restrictions. An anonymous try can be preview-only; do not assume every export is available without a completed job.

Can I also export my AIF transcript as another format?

Yes. The same completed job has TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON download options, subject to normal access restrictions.
