Simon Says alternative for standalone transcripts
Try a saved recording →Which workflow fits your recording?
Choose LongScribe: You need timestamped, editable transcript files from authorized recordings without specialist editing-suite exports.
Choose the other tool: You need Avid, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut integration, advanced visual subtitle workflows, or collaborative video post-production.
Try your own authorized recording: upload a saved file or paste a supported public URL. Source access and plan limits still apply.

What Simon Says genuinely does well
Simon Says offers transcript editing, subtitling, translation and integrations with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve and Avid. LongScribe is not a replacement for those specific interchange files or collaborative post workflows.
How paid minutes differ
Simon Says lists pay-as-you-go at $0.25 per source minute, alongside subscription tiers. LongScribe Free and Premium use monthly minute and recording allowances. Compare the actual file length and production features you require; a lower subscription headline is not total cost equivalence.
When a separate SRT is all you need
LongScribe creates searchable text and timed SRT captions. An editor can import the SRT, but this does not produce a Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve or Avid native project.
Review speech recognition before publishing
Any automatic transcript can mishear proper names, technical terms or overlapping speakers. Inspect timestamps and correct important passages against the recording.
The LongScribe allowance
LongScribe Free includes 60 min/month across 20 recordings. $4.99/month: up to 5,000 min/month and 500 recordings, subject to plan-specific job, upload-size and source-access limits. Per-job, upload and source-access limits apply; a preview should not be mistaken for a completed full transcript.

Frequently asked questions
Does Simon Says export for video editors?
Yes. Its official site lists workflows for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Avid, in addition to subtitles.
Does Simon Says require a monthly subscription?
No. It publishes pay-as-you-go transcription alongside paid monthly plans. Check its current pricing for your file length.
Can LongScribe replace Simon Says for an Avid project?
Not directly. LongScribe provides timed files such as SRT, but does not export Avid-native editing timelines.
Does LongScribe include speaker detection?
Speaker detection is a Premium capability. Generated speaker labels still require review and can be renamed.
What if my recording is longer than the Free budget?
Free offers 60 min/month across 20 recordings. Longer or additional jobs need an eligible allowance and must meet the plan's source and file limits.
