Why LinkedIn public video URLs can require sign-in
Viewing a LinkedIn post in a logged-in browser is not proof that its media is publicly downloadable. LinkedIn may require cookies, restrict media delivery, remove posts or change its URLs. LongScribe does not bypass account authentication or access rules.
A permitted saved MP4 is the fallback
If the LinkedIn URL is inaccessible, the reliable alternative is an MP4 file you have rights to use. Upload it through the normal file flow, subject to file limits and transcription admission rules. Do not download or redistribute media without permission.

Free LinkedIn transcription: monthly and source limits
A signed-in Free account normally has 20 recording jobs and 60 transcription minutes monthly, not unlimited anonymous full-video transcription. Manual uploads are limited to 90 MB on Free and up to 1 GB on Premium. LinkedIn media must still be accessible for URL import; file size, source access and per-job admission apply.
Frequently asked questions
Does a long recording transcribe in full without an account?
An eligible anonymous recording up to 180 minutes may be processed in full. A longer recording may receive only a 15-minute preview. Sign in for eligible full recordings within the separate Free plan's monthly job/minute budget; source access and individual-job rules still apply.
Can LongScribe transcribe any LinkedIn post?
No. It needs a supported retrievable video with speech. Some ostensibly public posts still require LinkedIn authentication or have restricted media delivery.
What if LinkedIn says authentication is required?
The source video cannot be retrieved through the public URL importer in that case. Do not keep retrying a login-gated URL as if retries unlock access. Upload a saved copy only if you have permission.
Can I transcribe an authorized LinkedIn MP4 upload?
Yes. Use the main LongScribe file uploader for a supported saved video you are allowed to process; normal plan and file-size limits still apply.
Is LinkedIn video transcription really free and unlimited?
No. The normal signed-in Free allowance is 20 recordings and 60 minutes monthly, and anonymous visitors may receive only a preview for longer videos. LinkedIn URL access is never guaranteed.
Can I export LinkedIn transcripts for captions?
For an eligible completed job, TXT, DOCX and JSON exports are available alongside separate timed SRT/VTT subtitle files. Captions are not burned into the LinkedIn video.
