SUBTITLE GENERATOR

Add Subtitles to Video

Create a separate timed SRT or VTT subtitle track from eligible, accessible public video audio or an authorized upload in the app. Sign in before starting a job you want to save or export, review its captions and timing, then download the completed subtitle file if eligible. LongScribe does not permanently embed subtitles into the video, and restricted videos may not work.

Why add subtitles?

Subtitles can make a spoken video more accessible to people watching without sound or who benefit from captions. Review word accuracy, language, readability and timing before publishing; caption presence alone does not guarantee accessibility.

Fast processing

Eligible recordings are processed in the background, depending on audio length, format and current queue. The resulting caption timestamps are drafts and must be checked against the source; no guaranteed processing speed or perfect synchronization is claimed.

A subtitle track is not a re-rendered video

LongScribe creates timed text sidecars (.srt and .vtt), not an MP4 file with captions burned in. Review the exported text and timing, then import it to your player or editor. Existing SRT/VTT files can be converted or re-synchronized for free using the separate browser-only tools without consuming transcription minutes.

Have a public video URL instead of an MP4 file?

Use SRT subtitles from a public video URL, or choose an authorized MP4 file above. LongScribe exports a separate caption file, not a re-encoded video.

Already have subtitle captions?

Have captions already? These tools work with an existing SRT or VTT file in your browser. They do not transcribe the video again.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hardcode subtitles into the video?

No, we provide a standard SRT subtitle file that you can upload to YouTube, Facebook, or import into your video editor (like Premiere or DaVinci Resolve) to render over your video.

Can I edit the subtitles before downloading?

Yes! You can edit the text and adjust the spelling directly in your browser before exporting the SRT.

Do I need an account to download SRT or VTT?

Eligible full guest demos can be claimed after same-browser login when account allowance remains, but partial previews are not full exports. Sign in first for the most reliable export path. The signed-in Free plan allows 60 transcription minutes across 20 recordings per month; individual job, source and file limits apply.
