CHINESE AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION

Chinese audio to text

Transcribe an authorized Chinese lecture or interview. Chinese (zh) is preselected, but a single setting does not guarantee equal accuracy for Mandarin, Cantonese or other varieties.

This language is selected for this recording. Use auto-detection if the spoken language is uncertain; review regional terms and names after processing.

This quick form accepts files up to 90 MB. Premium allows up to 1 GB through the main app's chunked uploader. Keep this tab open until the upload completes.

Mandarin and Cantonese require different expectations

The quick uploader offers Chinese (zh), not separate Mandarin and Cantonese models. Regional speech recognition may vary considerably. Test a short sample before relying on a full transcript.

Simplified and Traditional are not selectable modes

There is no script-variant switch in this quick upload. Inspect names, character choices, homophones and punctuation in the generated text.

Recover passages in a Chinese lecture

A transcript can help find quotations from a course or interview. Check technical vocabulary against the recording, especially for regional or multilingual audio.

Export Chinese text or separate subtitle files

TXT, DOCX and JSON are useful for revising the transcript; SRT provides timed captions, not a translated subtitle track or finished MP4.

How to transcribe a recording here

  1. Choose a saved recording you are permitted to transcribe. Check the file-size limit displayed in this quick upload form.
  2. Spoken language is preselected as Chinese (中文). Choose Detect automatically when unsure.
  3. Upload, wait for processing and check names, numbers and timestamps against the audio before exporting text or subtitle files.

Language-specific caution: Chinese (zh) does not offer a Cantonese or Simplified/Traditional switch.

Free account: 60 minutes and 20 recordings per month, plus plan-specific file-size, job-length and source limits. An anonymous try-without-account flow may return a shortened preview rather than a full transcript. Transcription is not automatically English translation.

Have an accessible public media link instead of a local file? Paste the supported public URL in the main app. The main app has separate language settings; select the spoken language again there if necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Does Chinese (zh) guarantee Cantonese accuracy?

No. Recognition quality varies by spoken variety and recording. Try a sample and verify the result.

Can I select Simplified or Traditional Chinese?

Not in the quick uploader. It offers Chinese (zh) or auto-detect, not a written-script switch.

Will this create English subtitles automatically?

No. Transcription produces original-language text; English translation is a separate paid workflow.

What about Chinese-English mixed speech?

You can try Chinese or Detect automatically, but mixed-language passages and names require manual review.

Which Chinese transcript files can I download?

Once processing finishes, use TXT, DOCX or JSON for text and SRT for timed subtitles.
