Terms of Service
What LongScribe is
LongScribe turns a public video or audio link, or a file you upload, into a text transcript. Transcription is automated (AI speech recognition, with platform captions used when available) and is not reviewed by a person before you see it. Accuracy varies with audio quality, accents, background noise and overlapping speech — review anything you plan to rely on before you quote or publish it.
What you can submit
Only submit content you have the right to transcribe: a publicly accessible link, or your own recording. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the platform a link comes from (YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and others) — LongScribe is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Do not use LongScribe for content that infringes someone else's copyright or privacy, or to abuse, scrape or overload the service.
Connected sources
If you connect Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Zoom, you authorize LongScribe to access the connected account only as needed to browse and select sources, import recordings and, when you enable automatic following, check the selected source for new recordings. You remain responsible for having the right to transcribe content imported from a connected account. Disconnecting an integration revokes future access and removes the stored connection and provider-derived source metadata; finished transcripts remain in your Library until you delete them.
Free and paid plans, and top-ups
The free plan includes a monthly transcription-minute allowance (shown on the homepage) that resets each month, no card required. Premium, Premium Pro and High Accuracy are optional recurring subscriptions processed by Stripe at the price shown at checkout. High Accuracy is an accuracy-first plan with a smaller monthly minute allowance than Premium Pro. One-time minute top-ups may also be available. Recurring subscriptions can be managed or cancelled from your account. See our Privacy Policy for how payment and transcription-provider data is handled.
Your account
You need an email and password (or a Google sign-in) for an account. Keep your password secure — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Give us an email you actually check if you want job notifications or a password-reset to reach you.
No guaranteed availability
LongScribe is provided on an as-is, best-effort basis. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, a specific processing time, or that every source platform will always be reachable. We may change, limit or discontinue features, including free-plan limits, with reasonable notice on the site.
Suspending or ending an account
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that abuse the service, violate these terms, or attempt to bypass rate limits or payment. You can stop using LongScribe at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how to have your account and data deleted.
Limitation of liability
LongScribe is a free/low-cost tool run on a best-effort basis. To the extent permitted by law, LongScribe is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on an inaccurate automated transcript. Use it at your own discretion for anything where accuracy matters.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. Continuing to use LongScribe after an update means you accept the current version, posted on this page with its last-updated date above.
